7 months old

I can’t take creative credit for these. I saw this idea on Pinterest and I had the technology (chalk board wall, couch, camera, and of course, a cute lil’ baby) and I HAD to do this! I’m just sad that I didn’t think to do something like this 7 months ago!

on all fours

Not the best shots…but this is what happens when you have a split second to capture a precious moment like this! John got up on all fours today and the camera just happened to be right next to me and I was able to snap these two before he fell on his belly. You better watch out Cheech! Johnny’s coming for ya!

Cash

Cash is our youngest English Mastiff. He is super energetic and very athletic. He loves to sit on top of me, lean on me, or sit on my feet. Softest dog I’ve ever met and I think you can see that in his eyes. We have nicknamed him The Barbarian because his manners need a bit of improvement…haha.

Cheech

Cheech is our oldest & smallest dog, but he has BIG personality. He holds his ground with our two English Mastiffs, Zeus + Cash, both about 200lbs each. He’s very special to us.

First Funny Face

Johnny’s first funny face! He also sucks his bottom lip and looks hilarious! The coolest thing is he mimics me when I do it back to him!

And his normal cute self 😉

Lensbaby

Well today my Lensbaby Composer Pro with Sweet 35 Optic finally arrived! I first learned about this lens through Dana Pugh, an amazing local photographer who taught a couple photography classes for Mom’s wanting to learn how to shoot their kids. Such great classes and I learned SOOO much from her. Such a great photographer. I’m sad she doesn’t teach more often. So after hearing about this lens through her I just had to have one. Today I spent about an hour playing around with the lens and trying to get the feel of it. This lens is definitely going to take a lot of tinkering with to get a good feel of it. I shot about 200 shots today and this is the only one that turned out ok. I really love the buttery, dreamy softness of the photos. This definitely isn’t the best photo but I wanted to post it as a comparison, because I can only improve….right?!?

Week 4

Final week of the photography class I’m taking with Brooke Snow. This was a bit challenging for me, the assignment was to shoot something that inspires us and isn’t part of the photography trend or an idea I have seen before. I found that hard because it’s hard to know what is part of the trend when I have only been into photography for such a short period of time. So these might be part of the trend, but it wasn’t intentional! Here is what I shot!

Big Boy Bath

My little baby is growing up so fast, last night he had his first bath in the big tub! I love how his eyelashes become stars in the tub!

Shhhh…baby is sleeping!

I’m probably one of few Mom’s out there who would risk waking up their quietly sleeping baby because they see a great photo opportunity. I think John is probably so desensitized to the shutter sound he doesn’t even flinch.
